The Fountain Hills Town Council took unprecedented action in voting to sanction one of its members at the March 19, regular council session.
On a 4-2 vote, Councilman Allen Skillicorn was censured and sanctioned related to conduct outlined in recent ethics complaints against him.
The censure vote included specific sanctions including writing a letter of apology to a town employee he attempted to intimidate; he is not to have any in person communication with staff members without another person present; the town will not pay any fees or costs related to government conferences he may attend; he will not be permitted to hold a leadership position, specifically the job of vice mayor.
