Fountain Hills Town Council votes to ban DEI policies

Resolution adopted after heated discussion

Councilman Allen Skillicorn makes a motion for a resolution to adopt a policy in opposition to DEI practices in Fountain Hills.

The controversy over diversity, equity and inclusion policies came to Fountain Hills with a heated discussion at the March 4 town council meeting.

Councilmember Allen Skillicorn introduced the resolution for the council to adopt a policy in opposition to DEI practices. The resolution was prepared with the assistance of the Goldwater Institute.

It was approved with five votes in favor, one opposed and one “present.”
