The Fountain Hills Town Council will hold the final meeting of 2025 Tuesday, Dec. 16, though the agenda was updated following initial publication of this story.
The council will no longer revisit a potential monthly stipend increase to $750 for council members and $1,100 for the mayor beginning in December 2026. This increase was originally visited in June and was set to return to the council this week for discussion and possible action. Monday afternoon, Dec. 15, the items were removed from the agenda at the direction of the mayor/council.
A special use permit request to reduce the number of required parking spaces for the proposed Dairy Queen at the southwest corner of Saguaro and Palisades Bouevards will go before the council Dec. 16. The SUP relates to the space for stacking of a drive-through from the south side of the building. Currently, there are 11 stacking spaces required in the town ordinance, and the council will consider lowering that number.
