Fountain Hills Town Council tables license plate camera ordinance

To return for further discussion

A proposed ordinance prohibiting automatic license plate reading cameras in town transitioned into a fiery debate about the Fountain Hills Town Council’s rules of procedure during its Oct. 6 meeting.

It was ultimately voted 4-3 to table the item for the Oct. 20 meeting for further discussion, with Vice Mayor Gayle Earle and Councilmembers Allen Skillicorn and Hannah Larrabee voting against tabling it.

Skillicorn brought attention to the topic during both the council’s September meetings, proposing to work directly with then-town attorney Jen Wright in crafting an ordinance. His motion was seconded by Councilmembers Rick Watts and Larrabee.
