Fountain Hills Town Council looking to update major ordinances

To provide staff with direction at Feb. 18 session

The Fountain Hills Town Council is scheduled to discuss and provide staff with direction related to updates of two major ordinances when it meets on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

The council is asking for a review of the sign regulations within Chapter 6 of the town’s Zoning Ordinance. A major sign ordinance revision was completed in November 2021 to bring the regulations into compliance with a U.S. Supreme Court decision. Additional updates were approved by council in October 2023.

The council also wants a discussion related to possible changes to the regulations governing community residences, also contained in the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 5. A major revision to the community residences section was completed in May 2022 with additional modifications approved in May 2024.
