The Fountain Hills Town Council gave direction to move forward with a potential Placemaking Strategy during its meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
On exterior buildings or on walls of local shops, murals add flare to Fountain Hills. There is no policy to oversee that art, however, said Town Economic Dirctor Amanda Jacobs.
Jacobs said the art has inspired other businesses to request art work either by donating a wall for the town to install a mural, splitting the cost with the town for art or fully funding private murals by the business or property owner.
