Fountain Hills Town Council approves zoning amendment

Allows for permit to display vehicles in neighborhood commercial zoning

A small commercial plaza has occupied the corner of Fountain Hills and Glenbrook boulevards since the 1970s and over the past 50 years has been occupied by a variety of businesses including a convenience market with gas pumps, restaurants, bike shops and even a small gym.

It has almost never been empty and currently there is a shop for the sale of e-bikes and a variety of golf carts.

A year or so ago, the applicants, Christine Sheppard or Phyllis Krikorian-Meagher,  the property owners,  discovered they had run afoul of town zoning regulations by displaying golf carts for sale in the parking lot, which is not permitted in the C-1 neighborhood light commercial zoning district. After a visit from code enforcement officers, the applicants went to the town to ask how they could legally display the carts outside.
