Fountain Hills Theater presents the Neil Simon comedy, “Biloxi Blues,” the second in Neil Simon’s trilogy which began with “Brighton Beach Memoirs.”
When the audience last left Eugene Jerome, he was coping with adolescence in 1930s Brooklyn. Now, a young army recruit going through basic training in Biloxi, Miss., in 1943, Jerome is learning about Life and Love with a capital ‘L’ along with some harsher lessons.
“Biloxi Blues” is the winner of three Tony Awards and Fountain Hills is privileged to be among the few theater companies to present all three of Simon’s award-winning plays in a single season, according to a press release.
Biloxi Blues will be followed by “Broadway Bound” in February.
The theater welcomes the return of Elias Matthews, the star of last season’s “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime,” who portrays the pivotal role of Eugene Jerome in all three plays.
“Biloxi Blues” is presented through special arrangement with Concord Theatricals and is directed by Gil Berry. It is rated PG-13 for adult themes and language.
“Biloxi Blues” will play Nov. 8 through Nov. 24. Performances take place Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
All performances take place at Fountain Hills Theater, 11445 N. Saguaro Blvd.
