Fountain Hills Theater earns 44 AriZoni nominations

Artistic director emphasizes audience connection

The Fountain Hills Theater earned an impressive 44 nominations for the 2025 AriZoni Awards of Theatrical Excellence, announced Aug. 11.

Leading the way was the 2024–25 season opener, “Ragtime,” which collected a dozen nominations, including Best Overall Musical Production. The youth theater’s “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood” followed with nine nominations, including Best Overall Youth Production.

In all, the theater’s artistic staff, including Producing Artistic Director Peter J. Hill, actor and designer Elias Matthews and recently retired Ross Collins, received a combined 14 nominations across eight categories.
