Fountain Hills students could travel to 2 continents in 2026-27

International travel can produce some Fountain Hills High School students’ most powerful and rich memories.

If fundraising, expected student interest and Fountain Hills Unified Governing Board approval are granted, as many as about 50 FHHS students could be headed for one or two other continents as part of the 2026-27 school year.

Social studies teacher Chris Petersen spoke to the FHUSD board at its Jan. 7 meeting about two planned trips, as an information-only meeting item. One is an exchange with Fountain Hills’ Sister Cities partner in Germany; the other is a trip to Japan similar to one students went on in spring 2025.
