Fountain Hills song dates back to 1988

Karen Myers shares love of her Arizona town

Karen Myers was sitting on a porch overlooking a lake in Casper, Wyo., when the words to “Our Fountain Hills” came to her.

The year was 1988 and Myers and her ex-husband were vacationing from their day job as Fountain Hills homebuilders for Myers Custom Homes, Inc. Ever the advocate for Fountain Hills, Myers was looking for ways to welcome new residents to Fountain Hills and a town anthem seemed like just the thing.

“I thought this would be a good idea for the realtors to put in their car when they’re driving people around to look at properties because it talks about all the different landmarks,” Myers said. “As a builder, I thought maybe this could be something as an advertisement in the background at the parade, at school…I thought the Community Chorus could learn it because it talks all about Red Rock and the McDowells and all that, but it’s about the people who come here.”
