Nathan Hughes finished his Fountain Hills career with his best season and is heading to Big Bend Community College for baseball next year.
Hughes fell in love with baseball when he started at eight years old, and he’s wanted to play college ball since he was a kid. He was still searching for an opportunity as late as senior night on April 15, but he signed his commitment at the Fountain Hills signing day ceremony on May 14.
“Truly, really happy that I’m going to college for the sport I love,” Hughes said. “It really means a lot. My family just got me there…The support was crazy. My friends and teammates were always there for me and I’m having to of my teammates come with me, so that’s going to be fun.”
