Fountain Hills resident finds joy in landscape design

Horticulturist offers practical desert gardening advice

When Paige Maloney worked at the Verde Valley Nursery in Fountain Hills, she often fielded the same gardening questions about desert plants.

“How can I tell if my cactus is over-watered?” “Why isn’t my bougainvillea flowering?” “What can I plant around my house to help cool the interior?”

Hearing common questions from customers set Maloney on a path of learning and led her to her work as a landscape designer, helping homeowners and garden lovers with an easy way to take care of their piece of the desert.
