Fountain Hills resident Marianne Szymanski says growing up as a teenager in war-torn Germany is an experience she wouldn’t wish on her worst enemy.
Sharing the experiences that shaped her life, Szymanski compiled a memoir of her family’s experiences, both happy and tragic.
A self-published, chronologically written family saga, “Trials, Tribulations and Blessings: A Family’s Journey,” offers a generational account of Szymanski’s ancestors starting as early as the 17th century. It’s also a first-hand account of her own experience living in war-torn Germany.
