Volunteers from Fearless Kitty Rescue have planned to travel to fire-ravaged Los Angeles to assist in rehoming cats out of the area and back to Fountain Hills.

Fearless Kitty Rescue has partnered with the Lovejoy Foundation (lovejoyfoundation.org) in Inglewood, Calif., to assist in transporting their cats to a safer environment.

“The Fearless Kitty Rescue van has been loaded with enough carriers to accommodate the cats that the Lovejoy Foundation is currently sheltering,” said Deanna Schlagenhaft, executive director of Fearless Kitty Rescue. “Fearless Kitty Rescue is joining several other rescues and shelters across the country on the ground in L.A., providing their support in this heartbreaking situation.”

All the cats being brought back to Fearless Kitty Rescue are thoroughly vetted and will be available for adoption to loving homes, according to Schlagenhaft.

The cats returning to Arizona are long-term residents of the Lovejoy Foundation. Bringing them back gets them in front of a new group of adopters and frees up space for the countless animals displaced by the fire who are waiting to be reunited with their families.

Fearless Kitty Rescue also serves as an information resource to the community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spaying/neutering, positive behavior training and good nutrition.
