The Fountain Hills Republican Club invites all local Republicans and like-minded Independents to join in Saturday, July 19, at the Fountain Hills Community Center, for its  monthly meeting.

The event organizers suggest attendees plan to arrive close to 8:30 a.m. to register. This will provide ample time to meet with fellow attendees, find a good seat and partake in a free breakfast.

Club President Denny Cooper will call the meeting to order at 9 a.m. The keynote speakers, Kevin Thompson and Nick Myers, are both running for re-election as members of the Corporation Commission and will offer the keynote addresses.

Other speakers are Dr. Stephen Neal, who is running for State Superintendent of Schools, and Kim George, who is seeking the Legislative District #3 in the Arizona House.

Last January, the new Commissioners unanimously selected Thompson as its next chairman and Myers as vice chairman.

According to club spokesperson Chris Brant, Myers and Thompson will share their priorities, which they feel remains the task of improving Arizona’s regulatory environment and keeping utility services reliable and affordable so Arizona can be the best state to live, work and raise a family and continue to attract the economic investment and development in Arizona.

The position of State Superintendent of Public Instruction will be contested in 2026, and Dr. Stephen Neal is one of those candidates.

Neal attended St. Mary’s Elementary School in Phoenix and was an accomplished football player. His life’s work returned him to a position in Arizona’s public schools. He is a registered psychologist and certified school psychologist in California and Arizona.

Most of his time is spent working with children with various learning abilities and from various cultural backgrounds (students with/without learning disabilities, at risk children, adolescents, etc.) and their families.

As Alex Kolodin is running for Secretary of State, there will be an open seat in the Arizona State House. Kim George is running and will ask  attendees for their support as her goal is to represent Legislative District #3 in the Arizona House starting in 2026.

George was born in Florida and earned a bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville University in 1991. As of 2024, she retired but previously worked as an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
