Discussion held on the Town’s Strategic Planning Advisory Commission

The Fountain Hills Republican Club (FHRC) closed 2023 with an address by Patrick Garman, the chairman of the Town’s Strategic Planning Advisory Commission.

Patrick Garman is a retired Army Lt. Colonel who brought his 29-year military and logistic skills to Fountain Hills. The Town has a General Plan and another plan that comes from the commission and is updated every five years.

Garman said the “Commission’s priorities are long-term financial stability, collaboration with economic development efforts such as the Town’s economic development director and the Chamber of Commerce, continue to improve public health, safety and well-being and prepare for emerging trends.”

Fountain Hills is a landlocked community which means the Town’s planning efforts must always focus on the highest and best use of available land, FHRC spokesperson Nancy Plencner said.

“Further, planning must protect the character of Fountain Hills, maintaining its natural beauty, and respecting its high-end residential neighborhoods,” Plencner continued.

The FH Republican Club meets the third Saturday of the month at the Community Center with registration at 8:30 a.m. and the program beginning at 9 a.m. Guests are welcome to attend.

The Jan. 20 meeting will feature state representatives Alex Kolodin, Joseph Chaplik and Senator John Kavanagh.

The club has had a successful year of activities, dynamic programs and a substantial growth in membership, Plencner added. “We welcome all Republicans, Independents and like-minded individuals,” she said.
