Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning takes another look at sign regulations

Commission members not inclined to recommend changes

Following up on a Town Council request, Town of Fountain Hills Senior Planner Farhad Tavassoli presented the Planning and Zoning Commission with potential changes to the sign regulations in the town’s Zoning Ordinance at the commission’s May 12 meeting.

A request by Councilmember Gayle Earle in January to bring back the sign ordinance for potential changes was followed up by a council discussion in February.

According to the minutes of the February meeting, Earle stated, “I know some of us have had some issues when we did the election, and where could we put our sign or not put our sign, and some were being taken, and just trying to figure it out. It was quite confusing, so in my understanding tonight was, it’s just a starting point, that the public is going to get to weigh in. They will be able to at P and Z. We will then have an agenda item in a meeting when they can come and talk about it, so it’s just a starting point.”
