Fountain Hills’ leadership is inexperienced, and it shows

Posted

Right now, Fountain Hills has inexperienced leadership. In some ways it’s an unfair label, but it is what it is.

From a staff perspective, in the last two years the town has burned through the positions of manager, PIO, town clerk twice and several others across all staffing levels.

And inexperience shows. This council is obsessed with revisiting issues of the past, brings a partisan philosophy to the dais regularly and is inattentive to some staff leadership issues, including direction from the town attorney. Elected leaders have very little regional experience or knowledge and lack the professional peer relationships necessary to address important regional issues that affect our town.

Maybe residents should recognize these shortcomings, as they demonstrate exactly what you have right now: a town wavering in direction, easily manipulated by a few who may not have the town’s best interests at heart. When we elect persons to “represent” us, we should expect more than we have right now. Elections matter. It shows.
