Honor Flight Arizona recently announced two sponsors providing funding for its Fall 2025 trips.
The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation recently donated $75,000 and Semper Fi Heating & Cooling has contributed $25,000.
According to a press release, this generous funding will allow Honor Flight Arizona to continue its mission of flying veterans to see the memorials in Washington, D.C.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, Honor Flight Arizona will begin its Fall 2025 flying season. Two of the five trips will include double the normal number of veterans as the organization works through its waitlist.
“We are so grateful to have these two new sponsors step up to help us continue honoring our veterans. As an all-volunteer organization, this funding pays for every aspect of the trips,” said Diane Franzese, president of Honor Flight Arizona.
“I finally felt like I got the welcome home I never had before,” said one veteran.
The veterans this season will include two WWII veterans, 11 Korean War veterans and more than 230 Vietnam veterans. Ten of this season’s veterans are at least 90 years old.
This season’s trip dates are:
Sept. 10–12
Sept. 22–24
Oct. 7–9
Oct. 22–24
Nov. 4–6
Since its inception, Honor Flight Arizona has flown more than 4,500 WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to Washington, D.C. to see their memorials.
Honor Flight Arizona took its first flight of 11 WWII veterans in November 2009. Trips have also included nearly 3,000 guardians who assist the veterans along the way.
