Fountain Hills governing board offers SPED contract to ProCare Therapy

Previous contract offer fell through

Fountain Hills Unified School District (FHUSD) had to go back to the drawing board to cover a hard-to-fill position for a local special education teacher.

At the Aug. 7 meeting, members voted to approve a purchase of over $100,000 to contract with ProCare Therapy for the position.

For those experiencing déjà vu, the governing board had to take this same action in early July with Epic Special Education. According to the Aug. 7 update, however, the educator who was to be provided by Epic decided to turn down the position when they learned it was self-contained. Self-contained typically means the educator will be responsible for the instruction of all academic subjects for their students, which is what is needed for this special education position.
