Fountain Hills gears up for 39th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade

Parade to kick off following Turkey Trot

Posted

Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 23, and Fountain Hills is celebrating with the 39th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, hosted by the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce and taking place in downtown Fountain Hills beginning 9:30 a.m. This year’s theme is “The West Kept Secret.”

“(This is a) beloved community tradition that continues to unite businesses, organizations, clubs and families in a heartwarming celebration of Thanksgiving,” reads a press release sent out by the Chamber. “For over three decades, the Thanksgiving Day Parade has graced the picturesque streets of Fountain Hills, becoming a cherished hometown favorite and drawing friends and family from across the Valley.”

As in previous years, the parade will follow the Turkey Trot, an early-morning 5K and fitness walk that takes participants around Fountain Park and through surrounding areas. The Turkey Trot usually draws thousands of participants, some even dressed up in fun costumes for the occasion. The Turkey Trot kicks off at 7:15 a.m.

Once those participants have completed the course and had a moment to catch their breath, it’s time for the parade.

“What makes this parade truly special is the enthusiastic participation of our local businesses,

who join hands with veteran groups, classic car clubs, service organizations and many more,” the press release continues. “The 39th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade is the perfect canvas for all to showcase their community spirit, creativity and unique contributions.”
