Fountain Hills Elks lend a helping hand to veterans starting new lives

Lodge donates ‘Welcome Home Kits’ for veterans

Over the past year, Fountain Hills Elks Lodge No. 2846 has helped 167 veterans settle into new homes through its Welcome Home Kits program, contributing approximately $60,000 worth of household essentials to those rebuilding their lives.

In partnership with Community Bridges Inc., local Elks members assemble and deliver kits filled with kitchenware, utensils, bedding, blankets and other home necessities, each valued at approximately $400. The program aims to give veterans a strong start as they transition into permanent housing.

CBI operates several programs supporting veterans, including its Transition in Place and Military Family Relief Fund, which help participants secure and maintain affordable housing. Its Supportive Services for Veteran Families program assists low-income veteran families in finding and keeping permanent homes.
