After Fountain Hills Unified administrators learned about a 2024 information breech with a software and data-storage vendor named Powerschool, one of the Governing Board’s first actions was to start thinking about alternative vendors.
The district isn’t the only group seeking an alternative to Powerschool, and it won’t be the only member of an established consortium.
The board unanimously approved a purchasing contract with Northern Arizona University’s Synergy Student Information System Co-op at its Nov. 5 meeting. District Superintendent Cain Jagodzinski said while the migration from Powerschool uses and applications to Synergy will begin soon, it will hardly be a simple transition.
