Desert Vista dog park will open Monday, July 13, after weeks of scheduled maintenance and improvements with funding approved by the Town Council, according to a press release.
While the park was initially scheduled to open on July 6, a notice from the Town stated that the newly planted grass required additional time to set.
“Improvements included replacing the concrete pad to improve the drainage system and help prevent standing water, upgrading turf drainage in key areas, adding new soil and organic materials to improve turf conditions, and help reduce puddling areas throughout the park,” the release stated. “Crews also performed an irrigation audit to ensure proper coverage, completed turf weed abatement and fertilization and reworked the areas beneath the shade ramadas to help level and reduce puddling by adding new granite.”
