The Fountain Hills Democratic Club (FHDC) will host three candidates seeking office and one LD3 Democratic leader at the upcoming club meeting Thursday, May 9.

The meeting will be held at the Fountain Hills Community Center with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting start time at 6 p.m.

Maricopa County Sheriff Deputy Russ Skinner (incumbent) is running for election. He was appointed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to serve as sheriff following Sheriff Paul Penzone’s departure, says Cindy Couture, vice president of FHDC.

Maricopa County Sheriff Deputy candidate Tyler Kamp will also present at the club meeting.

Kamp’s career in law enforcement spans over two decades including a career with the Phoenix Police Department.

The next speaker is candidate Julie Cieniawski, who is running for District 2 County Supervisor.

Cieniawski has more than 30 years in the classroom and as a community leader.

The current Legislative District 3 Chair (formerly LD23), Victoria Kauzlarich, will also speak.

Kauzlarich was elected the LD23 Chair in 2020 and was reelected in 2021. In 2022, Kauzlarich was elected Chair of Arizona’s newly formed LD3.
