As a fairly new resident I decided one way to become more familiar with the area was to start reading the Times, and its opinions section. It was there that I read with a bit of amusement on the life and times of Councilman Allen Skillicorn. The man certainly has his detractors. And his supporters.
I agree with Mr. Dudash that there does seem to be some Skillicorn Derangement Syndrome (SDS) going on. However, from my perspective, it seems to go both ways. I also think it's fair to say that there are more opinion pieces regarding Councilman Skillicorn than all other Fountain Hills council members. In that regard, he seems to bring it upon himself.
No other councilmember documented the activities of seemingly the town's only transient person. During the town's discussion regarding the use of TikTok, no other councilmember went on an extended diatribe against the evils of social media, as stated on his Facebook page. No other councilmember has chased down and accosted a town staff member. No other councilmember has put up campaign posters miles outside the city limits in Scottsdale, when he wasn't even up for election.
