Fountain Hills council too focused on politics and the past

Posted

This week I wrote comment cards opposing three agenda items for our town council. All three items were totally unnecessary. They were unrelated to town business and had nothing to do with improving roads or anything else that residents care about.

Serving on the town council is a huge time commitment, and the meetings need to be productive. But there has been way too much grandstanding about national politics and bickering about divisive cultural issues. Please use your limited time to work on the needs of our town. Stop rehashing policies (sign ordinance, 5G policy, rules of procedure for council meetings) that have already been thoroughly researched by staff, discussed by everyone, voted on and put into place. I attended those meetings. Please move on!

There are plenty of very important current issues that have not been dealt with and really do need attention. If you care about improving this community, start looking forward to what has not yet been addressed and start working cooperatively to accomplish what needs doing.
