Fountain Hills council passed unnecessary policies disguised as protective measures

I am delighted that we have a councilperson looking out for the citizens of Fountain Hills. He is willing to protect us all from outside perceived evils lurking around every corner. And even though our town is one of the safest in the entire state of Arizona, one can never be too safe.

Thus, Tuesday March 4, Councilperson Allen Skillicorn proposed a measure that would protect us from the apparent dangers of what he termed “divisive” DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion). And even though there are no such programs in our town’s policy, preventative measures were – according to Mr. Skillicorn – called for.

So, after 45 painful minutes of discussion and debate in which other council members warned of the possible legal and financial consequences of adopting his proposal, a vote to adopt this completely unnecessary protective measure was passed.
