The Fountain Hills Desert Botanical Garden seeks volunteers to join its cause to keep the trail in good condition for all to use.
The garden requires stewardship from the community to keep the trail accessible to all.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly welcomes newcomers
Anyone looking for weight-loss support and to start or continue their journey of weight loss is invited to join TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Fountain Hills chapter every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Chapter meetings are held at Joy Church, 13430 N. Saguaro Blvd. Use the front entrance of the church and follow the signs.
Fountain Hills Rotary club hosts speakers
The Fountain Hills Rotary Club continues its speaker series Tuesday, Sept. 17, with a presentation from Insurance Consultant Keith Gilbert.
The topic is “Medicare 101.”
Held at the American Legion Post 58, 16837 E. Parkview Ave., the Rotary Club of Fountain Hills meets at 4 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month.
Community Center contract bridge winners posted
Contract bridge is played every Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center. Membership in the Community Center is required to participate.
Winners from Aug. 23 include Luverne Parrish in first place, Richard Rasmussen in second place and Charlotte Ashbrook in third place.
Winners from Aug. 28 include Sharon Harvey in first place, Peter Mack in second place and Alan Max in third place.
Sunset Kiwanis supports community
The Sunset Kiwanis Club is looking for new members to join the club.
The club meets the first and third Tuesday of the month. The next meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The Sunset Kiwanis club sponsors the FHHS Key Club, the blood drive, Feed the Children and more.

Al-Anon holds regular meetings
Al-Anon family meetings are held each Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in the classroom building.
The only requirement to attend is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Attendees will find hope as members share their experiences, strength and hope.
Shepherd of the Hills is located at 16150 E. El Lago Blvd.
Focus Comics to host free art workshop
Focus Comics in Fountain Hills has announced its launch of a free five-week U.S. Hero Adventures Art Program available to autistic and/or special needs students ages six to 21 years of age who will learn how to master pencil and inking techniques.
