Fountain Hills Republicans meet May 17

Photography Enthusiasts meet May 14
All photography enthusiasts are invited to the next meeting of the Fountain Hills Photography Enthusiasts Wednesday, May 14, at the Fountain Hills Community Center from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. The first group meeting is free. Future meetings have no fee but require membership in the Community Center.
Al-Anon holds regular meetings
Al-Anon family meetings are held each Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in the classroom building.
The only requirement to attend is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Attendees will find hope as members share their experiences, strength and hope.
Shepherd of the Hills is located at 16150 E. El Lago Blvd.
Community Center contract bridge winners posted
Contract bridge is played every Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center. Membership in the Community Center is required to participate.
Winners from April 30 include Charlotte Ashbrook in first place, Gerd Brinkman in second place and Marry Ann Shaughnessy in third place.
Winners from May 7 include Alan Max in first place, Ann Alexa in second place and Mary Ann Shaughnessy in third place.
Winners from May 9 include Gerd Brinkman in first place, Doug Stewart in second place and Merry Klein Hill in third place.
Botanical Garden seeks volunteers
The Fountain Hills Desert Botanical Garden seeks volunteers to join its cause to keep the trail in good condition for all to use.
The garden requires stewardship from the community to keep the trail accessible to all. For more information, send an email to contactfhdbg@gmail.com.
Take Off Pounds Sensibly welcomes newcomers
Those looking for weight-loss support and to start or continue their journey of weight loss are invited to join TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Fountain Hills chapter every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chapter meetings are held at Joy Church, 13430 N. Saguaro Blvd. Use the front entrance of the church and follow the signs.
