Botanical Garden seeks volunteers
The Fountain Hills Desert Botanical Garden seeks volunteers to join its cause to keep the trail in good condition for all to use.
The garden requires stewardship from the community to keep the trail accessible to all.

Memory Cafe meets in the new year
Memory Café, the group that provides a social and learning space for caregivers and people with memory loss to unite, will meet at the Fountain Hills Community Center Thursday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m.
Memory Café is held the second Thursday of each month with coffee and pastries.
Take Off Pounds Sensibly welcomes newcomers
Those looking for weight-loss support and to start or continue their journey of weight loss are invited to join TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Fountain Hills chapter every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chapter meetings are held at Joy Church, 13430 N. Saguaro Blvd. Use the front entrance of the church and follow the signs.
Rotary Club of Fountain Hills meets Jan. 21
The Fountain Hills Rotary Club will host the new TOFH Community Relations Director Mike Pelton, Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Held at the American Legion Post 58, 16837 E. Parkview Ave., the Rotary Club of Fountain Hills meetings are at 4 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month.
Fountain Hills Woodworkers meet Jan. 11
Fountain Hills Woodworkers will meet Jan. 11 for a presentation on a computer-controlled CNC machine.
Meetings are held each month through the fall and spring. Some meetings act as support sessions for local non-profit organizations.
There is no charge to join Fountain Hills Woodworkers. Anyone interested in woodworking can send an email to kim.colenso@cox.net for information.
Any non-profit with a woodworking need can contact the club with needs.
Al-Anon holds regular meetings
Al-Anon family meetings are held each Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in the classroom building.
The only requirement to attend is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Attendees will find hope as members share their experiences, strength and hope.
Shepherd of the Hills is located at 16150 E. El Lago Blvd.
Community Center contract bridge winners posted
Contract bridge is played every Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center. Membership in the Community Center is required to participate.
Winners from Dec. 20 include Guy Rolfsrud in first place, Ron Bredemann in second place and Merry Hill Klein in third place.
