Watch and Clock Collectors convene
The Valley of the Sun Chapter 112 of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, Aug. 10, at 9 a.m. at the Fountain Hills Community Center.
The public is invited to attend and enjoy the program, “A Photo Recap of the 2024 NAWCC National Convention in Chattanooga, TN,” by Frank Wagner.
Come learn, share and enjoy the study of horology (the science of timekeeping). For additional information, contact Mike Wilson at 480-816-6483.
Al-Anon holds regular meetings
Al-Anon family meetings are held each Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in the classroom building.
The only requirement to attend is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Attendees will find hope as members share their experiences, strength and hope.
Shepherd of the Hills is located at 16150 E. El Lago Blvd.
Botanical Garden seeks volunteers
The Fountain Hills Desert Botanical Garden seeks volunteers to join its cause to keep the trail in good condition for all to use.
The garden requires stewardship from the community to keep the trail accessible to all.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly welcomes newcomers
Anyone looking for weight-loss support and to start or continue their journey of weight loss is invited to join TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Fountain Hills chapter every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chapter meetings are held at Joy Church, 13430 N. Saguaro Blvd. Use the front entrance of the church and follow the signs.
Community Center contract bridge winners posted
Contract bridge is played every Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center. Membership in the Community Center is required to participate.
Winners from July 26 include Sharon Harvey in first place, Merry Hill Klein in second place and Peter Mack in third place.
Winners from July 31 include Ron Bredemann in first place, Richard Rassmussen in second place and Max Love in third place.
Memory Cafe meets monthly
Memory Cafe meets Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Fountain Hills Community Center.
Free and open to the community, Memory Cafe provides a social and resource space for people living with memory loss and their care partners. Caregivers participate in an educational and support session while people with memory loss actively participate in a cognitive engagement program.
