Fountain Hills Unified School District Director of Finance Alicia Mena provided the school board with a status review of last year’s Auditor General’s audit.
The Governing Board met Wednesday, Jan. 17, to discuss and vote on several topics.
“There were 52 audit findings across 14 categories,” Mena said. “We had 90 days once we received the original corrective action plan to set up processes and tests for compliance. Once we submitted our documentation, the Auditor General came out, tested what our processes were, and that occurred the week after fall break. We had 27 corrections to our audit findings, and then 10 partially corrected.”
