OPINION — Now that all the votes have been counted and the results are final, I want to share a few words with the people of Fountain Hills.
History reminds us that meaningful change rarely begins with those in power. More often, it comes from ordinary citizens who choose to stand up, speak out, and work together to build a better future.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us that the arc of history does not bend toward justice on its own. It bends because people are willing to do the hard work of defending freedom, demanding accountability, and refusing to give up. We must never give up on the promise that every person matters and deserves dignity, fairness and opportunity, regardless of race, religion, background or identity.
