MJD Barber Shop in Fountain Hills is growing its team, welcoming two new barbers to better serve its loyal and expanding clientele.
Yelena I. and Ella I., both licensed barbers from New York, bring a combined 20 years of experience to the shop. They join owner and longtime barber Alex Aranbayev to provide a full range of services, including men’s, women’s and children’s haircuts, hot towel shaves, head shaves, beard trims, facials and nose and ear waxing.
Aranbayev, who has been cutting hair for 26 years, said the new additions are already making an impact.

Aranbayev, who has been cutting hair for 26 years, said the new additions are already making an impact.
“They are very good barbers,” Aranbayev said. “They do the hot towel shaves, haircuts…everything you see on the menu, they do.”
Bringing a touch of East Coast style to the Valley, the team at MJD credits the Fountain Hills community for its support and referrals that have helped the family-owned business thrive. The shop’s name, MJD, is a tribute to Aranbayev’s three eldest children, Michael, Joseph and David.
MJD Barbershop is located at 14835 E. Shea Blvd., Suite 105. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments can be booked by calling 480-474-4492 or online at mjdbarbershop.com. Walk-ins are welcome.
