As a former pest control business owner, R.L. Garr knows her way around desert critters.
Now, she’s channeling that knowledge into children’s literature with the release of her third book, “Unsung Heroes,” a story that highlights the essential roles of some of the Sonoran Desert’s smallest creatures.
Through characters like Remy the Cockroach, Penny the Packrat, Duane the Dung Beetle and Timmy the Termite, “Unsung Heroes” introduces young readers to the animals that help keep the desert ecosystem thriving.
