The Fountain Hills Artists’ Gallery will hold a demonstration Tuesday, March 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., led by watercolorist Cheryl Prather.
“The Southwest has an abundance of color and light, and I love to capture it in my paintings of desert landscapes, plants, buildings and animals,” says Prather. “Watercolor is my medium of choice. It is hypnotic, addictive and magical.”
Prather says photography was her first love and she enjoys turning her photographs into paintings. She paints in her studio, referencing her photographs and occasionally venturing out to paint en plein air.
