Gillmer Duran of Fountain Hills is one of 21 Arizona artists to receive a $5,000 research and development grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts (ACA).
Awarded through a competitive application and review process, these grants support artists who seek to advance their artistic practice, expand their creative horizons and deepen the impact of their work, according to an ACA press release.
Duran is a dance instructor at the School of Ballet Arizona as well as the Arizona School for the Arts. He and his wife Dubraskha Arrivillaga have traveled throughout North and South America chasing their dreams as artists.
