The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale McKee Branch flag football season is just around the corner, meaning it’s time for local parents and young athletes to gear up for some gridiron action.

This season’s Pee Wee division is for athletes in first and second grade. The Junior division is for third and fourth graders while the Pro division is for fifth and sixth grade. All divisions are co-ed.

Fees for this season are $100 per player and cover the eight-game regular season, uniform, tournament and awards. A Boys and Girls Club membership fee of $25 is also required for current non-members. A $25 late fee will also be applied to those registered after Aug. 9. Registration can be carried out at the local McKee branch, corner of Calaveras and Del Cambre avenues.

A parent meeting night will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15, and Friday, Aug. 16. Both events are scheduled for 6 p.m. and the McKee branch, but parents need attend only one of the two scheduled meetings.

Player drafts (mandatory for all players to attend) will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Four Peaks Park North Field. Pee Wee will meet at 8 a.m. with Juniors gathering at 10 a.m. and Pros meeting at noon.

The regular season will run from Sept. 3 through Oct. 31 with games played between Monday and Thursday evenings. The playoff tournament will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2.
