Flag flap

While there may not be many of us here who still can remember and relive the events of Dec. 7, 1941, we are hopeful the significance of that day will never be forgotten.

Most every American flag in our town was flown at half-mast this past Saturday except for our local federal Post Office.

When I personally talked to a “superintendent” at the facility that day -- after being directed to do so by one of the clerks at the window -- he seemed to be oblivious to the significance of 12/7/1941, and told me the employees there just “do as we’ve been told” regarding the posting of the colors here.

What a shame!
