Fiscal reports on Fountain Hills Town Council agenda

Council meets Tuesday, Oct. 1

Town of Fountain Hills Finance Director Paul Soldinger will provide the town council with a final financial update related to the 2023/2024 Fiscal Year that ended June 30. Soldinger’s report shows that the total net taxable activity within the town for FY 2024 totaled $735,607,741. The fourth quarter, from April through June accounted for $194,261,920 of the year’s total.

Most of the items on the council’s agenda are routine business. There is consideration of a professional services agreement with Top Leaf Tree Services for maintenance in town-owned washes and the flood control detention dams. Top Leaf was one of four bids received for the agreement and staff are recommending the council accept the bid not to exceed $210,000 annually.

The council is also considering an intergovernmental agreement with the Town of Gilbert for use of the Gilbert Fire and Medical Department’s training facility and associated programs. The agreement allows Fountain Hills Fire Department personnel to participate in training activities ranging from live fire to hazardous materials and technical rescue. It also includes regional fire academies and medic schools. Costs are dependent on the programs and materials needed. Fees will be budgeted according to existing policies.
