It’s an election year and it is incumbent upon citizens to participate in the process. It is also critical that our decisions and our votes are based upon knowledge of the candidates and the issues.
For almost four years, it has been the mission of Fountain Hills AZ Tea Party to provide a local, convenient source of first-hand knowledge about issues and candidates. Our meeting this month will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 6:30 p.m., at Fountain Hills School District Learning Center.
Tom Jenney, the director of Americans for Prosperity – Arizona, will lead off the meeting. Tom will provide information on pending bills in the state Legislature and how they will affect us and our economic situation.

Diane Douglas, a candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction and ardent opponent to Common Core, will follow Mr. Jenney. Common Core is an example of big government expanding its reach into local schools and taking away local control.
This is something that affects every student, parent and taxpayer, and Diane is an authority on the subject. Our meetings always provide ample opportunity to ask questions and get answers, first-hand.
Government is too big, too powerful and ignores the proper limits imposed on it by the Constitution. National polling confirms that the majority of Americans agree that government is indeed too big. This situation demands attention. It demands the action of concerned and committed citizens. It demands that we become educated, motivated and involved.
Please join your neighbors at the next meeting of Fountain Hills AZ Tea Party on Tuesday, March 18, 6:30 p.m., at FHUSD Learning Center. Bring a friend, bring a teen. Admission is free. Donations to offset expenses are gratefully accepted.
