Fountain Hills Fire Department responded to the 14000 block of Marathon Drive about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, for a reported fire in the garage of a home.
Fire Chief Dave Ott said there was ongoing renovation work at the home and construction materials stored in the garage caught fire. He said the garage was being used for painting, but Ott was uncertain whether that contributed to the fire. He said it appeared accidental.
The fire response included both Fountain Hills fire stations, along with Fort McDowell Fire Department, two Scottsdale fire units and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. An ambulance also responded.
