The Fountain Hills Unified School District Board has voted to award Superintendent Dr. Patrick Sweeney the full five-percent for his performance based compensation for the year.

Sweeney’s contact is structured in a manner in which up to 20 percent of his total annual salary is classified as performance pay.

The incentive is a maximum five percent of the superintendent’s annual salary. The compensation is based on achievement of cooperatively developed goals for the year.

FHUSD Superintendent Sweeney earns max incentive

The Fountain Hills Unified School District Board has voted to award Superintendent Dr. Patrick Sweeney the full five-percent for his performance based compensation for the year.

Sweeney’s contact is structured in a manner in which up to 20 percent of his total annual salary is classified as performance pay.

The incentive is a maximum five percent of the superintendent’s annual salary. The compensation is based on achievement of cooperatively developed goals for the year.

The incentive is payable by June 30 of each fiscal year.

Several of the board members praised Sweeney for his efforts over the past year in achieving the determined goals.

The goals included:

*Support and promote policies and practices that increase student achievement and inspire all students to reach their maximum potential.

*Promote success and excellence in all district students, staff and programs focused on academics, the arts, extra-curricular opportunities and athletics.

*Build and sustain a collaborative Pre-K through 12 learning environment that meets the needs of individual students, their families and our community.

*Implement and maintain responsible stewardship of district funds and other resources, guided by the best interests of our students.
