FHUSD School Board discusses contracts

Three Fountain Hills Unified School District administrative contracts are currently up for review, including Assistant Superintendent of Business Operations Dr. Robert Allen, Director of Human Resources and Student Services, Caroline Lynch, and Transportation Director John Flynn.

Members of the Governing Board entertained a recommendation from Superintendent Dr. Patrick Sweeney to renew all three contracts during the March 9 regular meeting.

According to the language of Allen and Lynch’s contracts, both must be notified by Aril 15 of each year if the District plans to offer them contract extensions under the same terms. The same goes for Flynn, only with a deadline of April 30.

While Flynn has been heading up the transportation department for a couple of years now, Allen and Lynch took over their positions at the start of the 2015-16 academic year.

According to Sweeney, he’d like to see all three continue in their current positions.

“I recommend all three contracts be renewed for next year,” Sweeney said during the meeting.

“All three have been excellent this year and I look forward to seeing this team doing bigger and better things next year.”

There was no discussion from the board. These contracts will appear on the April 13 agenda as an action item.
