Homecoming will arrive a bit earlier than normal this year, with the pep-filled week running from Sept. 11-16.
Most of the usual events will be involved despite the short lead-up time to the festivities, including the high school spirit week and pep assembly, the powderpuff football game, the homecoming game Friday evening, Sept. 15, and the homecoming dance the following night.
However, the parade will take on a different form this year. Snaking down the Avenue of the Fountain in years past and running along Golden Eagle Blvd. last year, the parade will now be held during the homecoming game halftime show. Royalty and the usual band/cheer performances will take place, with classes building golf cart floats.

Organizers are still interested in having community groups and organizations take part in the parade, following on foot or potentially in golf carts of their own. For questions, contact the high school at 480-664-5500.
