Few politicians meet the American 250 standard

OPINION — The game of 21st-century politics is played without moral or honest intent.

Politicians who know their methods are dishonest will ignore legal ethics by engaging legal timing to seek a short-term victory. Claiming to believe in the rule of law while bending it for partisan advantage isn’t principled, it’s opportunism dressed in a robe.

Political strategy is now almost entirely vested in outwitting opponents to acquire and hold power. The public good gets lost in the contest.
