Fearless Kitty Rescue has delayed the open house for its medical center indefinitely due to a feline virus outbreak.
The open house at 11881 N. Saguaro Blvd. in Fountain was set to occur on June 7, but an outbreak of panleukopenia, a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening feline virus, put those plans on hold, according to a press release.
A representative for Fearless Kitty Rescue said in the press release that although the open house is canceled, the medical center is already fulfilling its purpose, as it is able to implement stronger quarantine, disease-control and isolation protocols than before.
