Fearless Kitty Rescue recently celebrated two significant milestones: the adoption of its 3,000th kitten and its Giving Tuesday contributions exceeded its $55,000 goal to a total of $64,000.

Tink and Tank are a bonded pair that were found on the side of a freeway, according to a press release.

Both cats are approximately two years old and a good Samaritan took them to a Scottsdale rescue to be cared for until Fearless Kitty Rescue had room to take them in.

The adoption of Tink and Tank on Sunday, Dec. 8, was Fearless Kitty Rescue’s 2,999th and 3,000th adoption since inception.

The cats’ new mom and dad had recently lost their cat to old age and weren’t sure they were ready for another.

“They went into various kitty rooms, but there was something about Tink and Tank that made their dad’s eyes sparkle and their mom’s heart pound,” the release said. “A huge thank you to Sue and Trent Heidtke of Fountain Hills and to all the other adopters who have welcomed a Fearless Kitty into their homes.”

“Every adoption at our rescue is a reason to celebrate. We’re incredibly grateful to the countless adopters, volunteers, and supporters who make these life-changing connections possible,“ said Deanna Schlagenhaft, executive director of Fearless Kitty Rescue.

A ‘thank you’ for Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday on Dec. 3, was a success for Fearless Kitty Rescue,  thanks to all its donors. The initial announcement of $55,000 raised was exceeded when late donations were counted to a total of $64,000.

According to the press release, the funds raised will cover all of the spay and neuter expenses for 2025 and help pay for other needed medical treatments.

“The generosity of our donors allows us to continue our life-saving work. With their help, we are able to provide a safe and loving environment while the cats in our care await their new families and a second chance,” added Schlagenhaft.
